“Popcorn words" are words that "POP" up frequently in text and the environment. Learning sight words is essential to grow into a fluent reader. Each week, students will be introduced to a few sight words at a time. It is HIGHLY suggested that students review these sight words at home!
Ways to practice popcorn words:
Make your own word wall at home
Point out popcorn words as you read books
Play "I Spy" in your house, at the grocery store, or out in the neighborhood. Point out popcorn words!
Cut popcorn words out of magazines or newspapers and glue onto paper
